Craig Crain writes a hard hitting editorial condemning Kerry's Flip-Flops on the issue of anti-family state constitutional amendments.
Recently, including in February on National Public Radio and in last week’s gay press interview, Kerry cited the institution of marriage as religious and “sacramental.”But when faced with pressure from Catholic leaders to change his stance on another hot-button issue, abortion, Kerry has made clear that private religious beliefs should not influence public policy. On abortion, Kerry has said he personally believes abortion is a sin, but is devoted to protect a woman’s right to choose.
How can he draw the line so clearly on abortion but not on marriage? Would political polling have anything to do with that? Or maybe the acquiescence of left-leaning gay rights groups?
It's seemed rather clear to me that Kerry has gotten worse on gay issues since the Human Rights Campaign endorsed him. The problem is, HRC is VERY good at raising money, and holding glitzy black tie dinners but are less effective at grass roots organizing. Endorsement from the HRC doesn't translate into GLBT votes all the time. Too often the Kerry campaign has used them to take flack when he supports anti-gay amendments like the one in Missouri. That in turn undermines their credibility further.

Boifromtroy's post about CNN rejecting Log Cabin Republicans ad has generated a little blog debate. Kalblog has criticized the ad for comparing Falwell to Phelps and praised CNN for refusing the ad. Discount Blogger disagrees, noting Falwell's comments about 9/11.
Eric Scheie comments on the Discount Blogger post.
A couple of points:1. CNN has run ads for gay travel.
2. The Log Cabin ad is nowhere near as controversial as the ads for Fahrenheit 9/11 -- which were admitted by Michael Moore to be political advertising. CNN ran Fahrenheit 9/11 ads!
I suspect that the reason for the refusal is because the powers that be in CNN would like to downplay the existence of gay conservatives.

Here.
Money quote:
In Log Cabin's ad, legitimate figures such as Falwell, Buchanan and Santorum are thrown in with pathologically hateful Fred Phelps, a nobody who shows up with incomparable timing at "gay" funerals to provide an ugly caricature of Christians. It doesn't matter that no respectable figure anywhere on the political spectrum endorses Phelps' bizarre antics. Many conservatives, including me, have openly denounced Phelps' tactics and his denial of the truth that homosexuals, like any other sinners (and that's all of us), can repent, be forgiven and enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
If the shoe fits..... Knight's been quoted in several CWA hit pieces on yours truly.

From GayIndy.org
The meeting was preceded by controversy when the private invitation to the gathering was re-worded and sent anonymously to reporters and right wing activists without the Daniels' campaign knowledge or consent. The anonymous email was traced through its header by GayIndy.Org list member Jerame Davis, and was found to have been sent from a computer at the Indiana Democratic Party.
The incident was denounced and labeled a dirty trick by several GayIndy list members as well as Mitch Daniels, who called the incident "sophomoric." The Indiana Democratic Party denied that the email was sent by a member of its staff despite the electronic "stamp" that positively identified it as being sent from their computer system.
UPDATE: I misread this paragraph. Kip Tew the Democratic Party Chair in Indiana wrote me and assured me that his staff had not been involved in this. So this mystery is still Developing.....

A column on the website to the Outlet Radio Network has an interesting item saying that Democrats in Indiana are trying to undermine the GOP nominee among conservative Republicans by spreading the word that he's pro-gay. That's it, boys and girls, make sure the GOP remains in the hands of the gay haters -- the country may never get gay equality, but the Dem's monopoly on our vote will remain, and really, isn't that the important thing?
Then call Gay Republicans things like "Jews for Hitler" or "Self-loathing" or "Uncle Tom's Cabin." Funny - this doesn't sound too different than the "fudgepackers" or "Log Samplin' Republicans" drivel that is common on Free Republic.
It sounds like this Republican candidate for Governor has a history of irritating the Leviticus Crowd in Indiana - who supported his primary opponent. The Indiana star covers his meeting with Indiana Gay Activists.
