UPDATED:
I could swear I saw both Mary Cheney and partner Heather Poe go up on stage to join Dick Cheney after the debate.

John Aravosis mentions this. He's furious.

My speculation: Mary and Heather didn't show up on stage when Cheney spoke at the Republican convention - because it would have meant giving credibility to the anti-gay message coming from the party. But they went up on stage to support Dick Cheney - Mary's father. That's family values in my view.

Did HRC advise Edwards to mention Mary Cheney during the debate? All the while mentioning at least twice: "John Kerry and I oppose Gay Marriage". Ya think?

Then the statement by Cheryl Jacques:

Tonight we saw the worst kind of flip flop. Vice President Cheney said he supported his daughter, but then said he supported President Bush’s effort to discriminate against her. John Edwards affirmed his and Senator Kerry’s support for protections for same-sex couples and chastised President Bush for using the Constitution to divide the American people.

Don't even go there on flip flops on this issue. Log Cabin notably put no press release out to defend Bush. Why should they? They didn't endorse him.
