Steve May gets Attacked for his Kerry Endorsement

September 17, 2004

Some commenters are not happy with Republican Steve May endorsing John Kerry.

Steve May is a whiney wolf in sheep's clothing. If his sexual preferences are more important than a strong economy, tax cuts, and the war on terror, why doesn't he whip out his leather harness and run for Grand Marshall of the local PRIDE Parade?

This one is purely ad hominem.... Meaning if you can't argue the issue, do a personal attack. Jeff also comments (Jeff is a regular commenter on Blogactive and gaypatriot also.)

"We have been abused and we must not run back into the arms of our abuser."

Perhaps Steve May might want to explain to the rest of us how John Kerry's support of antigay state constitutional amendments and legislation does NOT constitute "abuse". He might also want to tell us how he reconciles said support with the lines in the Democratic Party platform promising "full inclusion" and "equal responsibilities, benefits, and protections".

I think Steve May is another one of John Kerry's "friends" that proves the old axiom.....every man has his price for friendship, and some of them will settle for cash.

Another ad hominem.... with no evidence for the cash. Kerry deserves some criticism, but it's the Bush campaign that is using this issue for political gain - and Bush's campaigns have a history of doing so. It's not Kerry's fault that Bush's campaign went anti-gay in 2004. There are negative consequences for going anti-gay.
