SKELETONS BALL: TRICKS AND TREATS GALORE

November 16, 2004

First let me apologize to everyone for not keeping up with my blogs… I think it took me this long to sleep off my Dallas excursion. I’m going to keep my review here brief, and to sum it all up:

Texas Circuit Boyz’ Events are definitely a necessary addition to any party boy’s itinerary.

The Skeletons Ball was peppered with a great team of Djs and performers… DJ Alyson Calagna (one of my new favorites) and DJ Demarko from the Global Grooves tour were particularly hot. And although I have never seen (or at least been coherent enough to remember seeing) a G’Licious Production (sorry if I raped the spelling) before… I will try not to miss another one.

The venues themselves were a bit small, but being that it was the first annual “Skeletons Ball,” it was appropriate. The main party was definitely the highlight for me. The party was in a great space, the lighting was completely tricked out and the water was only about $375 a bottle. The turn out was good, and will definitely become huge in the following parties to come.

Traveling from venue to venue was a bit taxing (there was no shuttle service, other than the host hotel’s), but the locals and the promoters were so friendly and accommodating, that there was always someone to help. And being the person I am, I did miss having the VIP areas I’ve grown fond of… but like I said, everyone was so great and welcoming (and handsome), a secluded VIP area would have gone to waste. You know us high-maintenance party bois, we just want the option.

All in all, the boys of Texas were great, and Texas Circuit Boyz are well on their way to being one of the top party promoters. Considering that this was the first circuit event that TCB has done (to my knowledge), it went surprisingly seamless. My only suggestions would be to have a posted schedule of a shuttle service (also to be included in the welcome pack), and to have more of a VIP status established, i.e., lounges/complimentary bottled water/bananas, etc. Although, they would have to up the ticket price ($125 for VIP was a steal), I think that people would pay for the added amenities.

Finally thanks to everyone who made my trip to Dallas such a great one! Especially Gilley (you rockstar), Geof, Petie, James, Karl, Proctor & Porter, and my newest chatty-kathy-sister-from-another mister Craig, I can’t wait to catch up with you all again soon!

You can check out TCB at www.texascircuitboyz.com.

(And the only cowboy hat I saw was some big ‘ole tourist in the airport.)
