(WASHINGTON) - Lightning has struck the Outlet Radio Network, an all gay commercial webcaster located at www.outletradio.com. The strike occurred Saturday August 9, 2003 weeks after Margie Phelps appeared on the station and prayed that God would strike the station. Phelps is the wife of the notorious anti-gay minister of hate, Rev. Fred Phelps of www.godhatesfags.com

The strike muted Sunday's Christian and Vince Show, a two hour gay call in talk show. The destroyed equipment connects the program to guests and callers via a toll free line across the U.S. and Canada.

"We were shocked," said Outlet Radio principle partner and talk show host Christian Grantham. "Just as we were about to start the show, we noticed a key piece of equipment had been fried by the lightning strike."

The Phelps clan isn't the only religious group praying for God to intervene in a brewing culture war over gays in the U.S. The Rev. Pat Robertson is currently in the midst of a 21 day prayer vigil titled "Operation Supreme Court Freedom." Robertson has also asked God to remind key Supreme Court Justices of their failing health as retribution for their recent ruling outlawing discriminatory sodomy laws.

"If our recent lightning strike is any indication, the Supreme Court Justices might want to ground themselves," warned Vince Oropesa, principle partner and co-host of Christian and Vince. "While I'm spreading the jinx, maybe God can curse us with equal marriage rights."

All programming is resuming on schedule with an exception to the Christian and Vince Show until the station can recover from the strike.
